Manchester United has moved again to sign a Real Madrid player during the current summer transfer window, after previously failing to do so.

Manchester United is looking for a midfielder after the departure of Brazilian Casemiro to Inter Miami.

According to The Sun, after being approached last winter and at the start of the current summer transfer window, it seemed that Aurélien Tchouaméni would stay at Real Madrid and was even on the verge of extending his contract.

However, Manchester United has inquired again about Tchouaméni's situation, as the French midfielder is among the options being considered by the Red Devils, who are still looking for a specialized defensive midfielder after Casemiro's departure.

Tchouaméni's profile matches the criteria set by Manchester United: a young player capable of fulfilling a defensive role in midfield and bringing balance to the team.

Unlike new arrivals André Santos and Youri Tielemans, who are more attack-minded, the French international is a natural defensive midfielder.

However, it is clear that José Mourinho is counting on the French player for the 2026-2027 season, and United's task in completing the deal will be difficult.
