French striker Kylian Mbappe was awarded the FIFA World Cup 2026 Golden Boot, topping the scoring list with 10 goals, while his total goal contributions reached 14 after providing 4 additional assists for his teammates.
During this tournament, Mbappe broke the historic World Cup goals record, surpassing Argentine Lionel Messi with 22 goals to 21, while German Miroslav Klose dropped to third place after having topped the list before the start of the 2026 edition.
The French star won the Golden Boot award for the second consecutive time, after having won it in the 2022 Qatar edition, and became the first player to score 10 goals in a single World Cup since German Gerd Müller in 1970.
