France captain Kylian Mbappé broke the record of Argentine Lionel Messi as the all-time top scorer in World Cup history with 22 goals, by scoring a brace against England in the third-place match on Saturday in Miami.

The Real Madrid star also topped the scoring chart of the current edition in North America with ten goals, after reducing the deficit in the third minute of the second half when France was trailing by a clean four English goals scored in the first half, before adding his second and third goals for his country in the 66th minute (3-4).
