The Spanish national football team was crowned champion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, for the second time in its history.
The Spanish team's coronation came after its valuable 1-0 victory over the Argentine team, after extra time, on Sunday evening in the World Cup final, reclaiming the title it previously won in 2010 in South Africa.
Following its title win, the Spanish team received the first-place prize in the World Cup, presented by the International Football Federation (FIFA), worth $50 million, while the Argentine team, the previous World Cup champion, settled for $33 million, the value of the second-place prize.

In contrast, the English team received the third-place prize, amounting to $29 million, after its exciting 6-4 victory over the French team, which earned $27 million, the value of the fourth-place prize.
The teams ranked fifth through eighth received $19 million, ninth through sixteenth received $15 million, 17th through 32nd received $11 million, and 33rd through 48th received $9 million.
