Mustafa Abu Zahra, a member of the Egyptian Football Association's board, expressed his happiness over the Egyptian national team's qualification to the round of 16 of the World Cup, following their victory over Australia on penalties yesterday, Friday, praising what the team and the coaching staff achieved.

Abu Zahra said, during a phone call with journalist Ahmed Moussa on the program 'Ala Mas'uliyati' broadcast on 'Sada El Balad' channel: 'Our joy is doubled because we achieved victory and qualification to the round of 16 of the World Cup on the anniversary of July 3rd.'

He pointed to the size of Arab support that the Pharaohs received, saying: 'Egypt is a country present in the heart of every Arab, and we saw the extent of support, joy, and backing from Arab brothers for the Egyptian national team after qualifying for the round of 16 of the World Cup.'

He also emphasized the continuation of former Liverpool star Mohamed Salah and coach Hossam Hassan with the Egyptian national team for a long time, saying: 'Mohamed Salah will continue with the national team after the World Cup, and he is a great symbol... Our team in the 2030 World Cup will be captained by Salah and coached by Hossam Hassan.'

The Egyptian national team had qualified for the round of 32 as runners-up in Group Seven with 5 points, before defeating Australia on penalties (4-2) after a 1-1 draw in regular time.
