Newcastle United announced on Thursday the official signing of young Dutch midfielder Sean Store from Ajax Amsterdam on a five-year contract, as part of strengthening the squad for the new season.

The English club did not disclose the financial details of the deal, making Store Newcastle's third summer signing after French goalkeeper Ewan Gavin and Ivorian winger Bazoumana Touré.

Dream of playing in the Premier League

Store, 18, expressed his happiness at joining Newcastle, affirming that playing in the English Premier League has been a dream for years.

He said: 'It's an indescribable feeling to be here. Newcastle is a big club, and it has always been my dream to play in the best league in the world, so I am very excited about this move.'

He added: 'I spent wonderful years at Ajax since joining the academy at the age of seven, but when an offer comes from a club like Newcastle, it is very hard to refuse.'

He noted that he prefers to play the ball forward constantly and is good at moving between the lines, affirming that his first goal is to achieve victories with his new team.

Eddie Howe: Big player project

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe welcomed the new arrival, pointing out that the club sees him as one of the most prominent rising talents in Dutch football.

Howe said: 'We are delighted to have Sean join Newcastle. He is a very promising talent and has already played matches in the Champions League and the Dutch league.'

He added: 'We believe he has the qualities to become an important player for the team in the coming years, and we look forward to working with him and helping him achieve his ambitions.'
