In a striking development, Turkish press reports revealed direct intervention by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Besiktas's negotiations to sign Egyptian star Mohamed Salah.

Turkish newspaper Zaman reported that Salah's transfer to the Turkish league is no longer just a sports matter under Besiktas's management, but has become closely monitored by prominent state figures.

The paper clarified that President Erdogan personally intervened, asking Besiktas President Serdal Adalı for a detailed report on the progress of negotiations with Mohamed Salah, confirming that he is personally following all details of the proposed move to Istanbul.

Turkish club officials believe that this indirect government support could help overcome the huge financial obstacles facing the completion of such a large deal, as Besiktas's ambitions are not limited to domestic competition but extend to seeking continental dominance.

In the same context, the newspaper quoted Turkish journalist and broadcaster Erdoğan Aktaş as confirming that the Egyptian striker will arrive in Istanbul next Wednesday to finalize his contract with Besiktas.

It also indicated that if the deal is completed, it will become the largest transfer in the history of the Turkish league in terms of market value and public momentum.
