The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) held an extraordinary general assembly meeting on Wednesday via video conferencing, with 46 out of 49 members in attendance.

The meeting began with a request from SAFF Secretary General Majid Al-Sahib to adopt the agenda, which was unanimously approved. Subsequently, the assembly approved the appointment of three members to review the minutes of the meeting:

Abdulaziz Ali Al-Rashoud – representative of Al-Raed Club

Ahmed Ali Al-Khuraidah – representative of Al-Khaleej Club

Abdulaziz Mohammed Al-Sulaimi – representative of Al-Washm Club

The assembly also approved the appointment of three independent observers to oversee the meeting procedures:

Hisham Qasim – CEO of the Saudi Arabian Basketball Federation

Ali Al-Shehri – CEO of the Saudi Arabian Chess Federation

Khaled Al-Saad – CEO of the Saudi Arabian Squash Federation

The general assembly members ratified the minutes of the previous meeting.

Voting was conducted and approval was given to proposed amendments to the bylaws and election regulations, as part of enhancing governance and developing the federation's regulatory frameworks in line with best institutional practices.

It was emphasized that the adoption of the proposed amendments aims to complete the regulatory procedures for the electoral process, allowing the board to bring forward the election date and elect a new board after forming the election committee according to the provisions of the bylaws and election regulations. The General Secretariat, through the Legal Department, will undertake the implementation procedures, while the electoral timeline will be announced in the coming period, including dates for opening nominations for the presidency and membership of the SAFF Board of Directors.

The meeting featured a speech by SAFF Board President Yasser Al-Mishal, in which he praised the wise leadership's support for football and the attention and follow-up of the Minister of Sports. This, he said, has resulted in achieving many goals and hosting events, building strong relationships and partnerships with continental and international organizations, and enabling all Saudi national teams to reach World Cup tournaments and return to the Olympics after a long absence.

In conclusion, Al-Mishal expressed his sincere gratitude to the general assembly members and all clubs for their cooperation and active participation in the journey of Saudi football.
