English club Manchester City revealed on Wednesday that it has extended its contract with star Phil Foden, as part of its efforts to maintain core players.

The club said in a statement on its official website: 'Phil Foden has signed a new four-year contract, keeping him at the Etihad Stadium until 2030.'

Golden career with City

Foden joined Manchester City's academy at the age of nine, and since his first-team debut in 2017 under Pep Guardiola, he has become one of the most decorated players in the club's history.

In total, Foden has won 20 titles with City: 6 Premier League titles, 5 League Cups, 3 FA Cups, 3 Community Shields, plus one each in the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup.

Maresca leads City

It is worth noting that Manchester City hired Italian coach Enzo Maresca to succeed Spaniard Pep Guardiola, who left the club after 10 years during which he led the team to top domestic, continental, and global honors.
