Official Trials Kick Off Second Round of Saudi Hill Climb Championship
The activities of the first day of the second round of the 2026 Saudi Hill Climb Championship, hosted at the Al-Mohammadiyah Pass in Al-Shafa area of Taif Governorate, under the supervision of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation, concluded today, Friday.
The number of registrants in the second round reached 54 male and female competitors, 46 of whom completed the technical inspection requirements, in preparation for competing in ten categories in addition to the Ladies' Cup.

The activities of the second round kicked off this morning, Friday, with administrative checks and technical inspection of participating vehicles to verify their compliance with approved technical requirements and safety standards. At 10:30 a.m., a drivers' meeting was held with the presence of officials and organizational and technical teams to review the regulations and rules governing the competitions. The on-track program began with official trials at 1:30 p.m., where competitors tested the readiness of their vehicles and adjusted their settings, ahead of the first race at 4:00 p.m., which was decided to be completed on Saturday morning. The official trials saw close times among competitors in their first competitive test on the Al-Mohammadiyah Pass track. The ranking of the top ten fastest times was as follows: 1. Faisal Sufyan Al-Qabbani (Class 1) – 1:47.832; 2. Rabee' Moayad Al-A'war (Class 2A) – 1:48.544; 3. Mahmoud Ahmed Abed (Class 3A) – 1:51.907; 4. Ahmed Abdulrahman Al-Qaidi (Class 2A) – 1:54.014; 5. Mustafa Nabil Al-Atari (Class 1) – 1:54.772; 6. Abdullah Ahmed Al-Omari (Cat 2 SS) – 1:55.972; 7. Abdullah Abdulaziz Khoja (Class 3A) – 1:56.972; 8. Sultan Hamdi (Class 3A) – 1:59.671; 9. Riyad Batal (Class 2B) – 2:01.307; 10. Abdulaziz Majed Al-Fadli (Class 4A) – 2:01.565. The second round competitions continue tomorrow, Saturday, with the completion of the first race at 8:00 a.m., followed by the second race at 10:30 a.m., before the decisive races, where the third race takes place at 1:00 p.m. followed by the fourth race at 3:30 p.m. Final results will be based on the best time each competitor records in the decisive races, with the awards ceremony for various categories to be held at 5:00 p.m.
