Tottenham Hotspur officially announced the signing of Scottish Andrew Robertson on a free transfer after his contract with Liverpool ended.

Robertson bid farewell to Liverpool at the end of the past season, after 9 years at Anfield, filled with achievements and titles.

Tottenham said via its official website: "After leading the Scotland national team in the last World Cup finals in the United States of America, Mexico and Canada, the full-back began his career with Tottenham this week by joining us for the first time at Hotspur Way."

It added: "The defender, who joined us after his contract with Liverpool ended at the beginning of the month, began settling in the N17 area this week, where he met his new teammates and started pre-season tests and training."

According to Transfermarkt, the 32-year-old Robertson signed a contract with Tottenham until June 2030.

This deal comes to bolster Tottenham's ranks, who suffered a lot last season and came within a hair's breadth of relegation to the Championship, before staying in the Premier League in the final meters of the tournament.

Tottenham has finalized several deals in recent days in preparation for the new season, most notably Sandro Tonali (Newcastle), Matias Fernandez (West Ham), and Marcus Sinsi (Bournemouth).
