The 2026 World Cup final between Argentina and Spain, this Sunday evening, will not only be a battle for the title, but will also represent a clash between two of the most accurate passing teams in recent decades.

According to Opta statistics, the Argentine national team has the highest pass accuracy in the current World Cup edition, at 90.5%.

Only the Spanish national team surpasses this figure in the last 60 years of the World Cup, with 91.9% in the 2018 edition and 90.9% in the 2022 World Cup.

Argentina qualified for the final after topping its group, then beating Cape Verde (3-2) in the round of 32, and Egypt by the same score in the round of 16, before defeating Switzerland (3-1) in the quarterfinals and England (2-1) in the semifinals.

Spain also topped its group, then eliminated Austria (3-0) in the round of 32, knocked out Portugal (1-0) in the round of 16, before overcoming Belgium (2-1) in the quarterfinals and France (2-0) in the semifinals.

Lionel Scaloni's team seeks its fourth World Cup title in history, after triumphs in 1978, 1986, and 2022, while Spain aims to win its second World Cup, having lifted the trophy for the first and only time in the 2010 edition.
