Paris Saint-Germain continues its moves in the summer transfer market, as part of its effort to strengthen its squad before the start of the new season, prioritizing the right-back position with the aim of providing a capable backup for Moroccan star Achraf Hakimi when needed.

According to Spanish newspaper Sport, the French club's management is considering signing Frenchman Jules Koundé, Barcelona defender, after he became one of the most prominent options to reinforce the back line. The newspaper added that Barcelona does not mind the player's departure during the current transfer window, provided they receive a bid between 50 and 60 million euros, as the club is ready to rearrange its squad before the new season. It pointed out that Koundé does not reject the idea of returning to Ligue 1, especially after his agents offered his services to several top European clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain.

Despite the Parisian club's interest, Koundé's potential involvement remains questionable, as it is unclear whether the French defender would accept the role of backup for Achraf Hakimi, at a time when he is accustomed to being a starter for both Barcelona and the French national team.

On the other hand, Paris Saint-Germain's coaching staff believes that having a player of Koundé's capabilities would give the team additional options, especially with his ability to play in more than one position in the defensive line.

This file comes alongside Paris Saint-Germain's interest in making attacking deals during the transfer window, as the club continues to monitor a number of young names, most notably Maghnes Akliouche, along with other options, as part of a more balanced spending policy compared to previous seasons.
