There is uncertainty surrounding the future of Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford regarding his next destination for the new season, as the player does not yet know where he will play next season, after Barcelona decided not to activate the 30 million purchase option they had in his contract.

Rashford is currently in the United States to participate in the World Cup with the England national team, where he spoke about his future plans that he made immediately after the end of his season with Barcelona.

Rashford said in remarks highlighted by the Spanish newspaper Marca: 'I was very clear with all parties involved. I wanted any move regarding my future to happen before the start of the World Cup.'

He added: 'Since I did not succeed in achieving that, I preferred to wait until the end of the World Cup, because I want to focus entirely with England at the moment.'

The deal could not be closed before the World Cup due to Barcelona's decision not to activate the purchase option in Rashford's contract, in addition to the club having signed Anthony Gordon a few days before the tournament, a striker who plays in the same position and is currently competing with him for playing time in the England national team.

Rashford must make a decision about his future as soon as the World Cup ends, with Tottenham Hotspur being one of the clubs interested in signing him, according to the English press.
