The peoples of the world enjoyed a pleasant break with the World Cup carnival, easing the constant state of tension that has become the prevailing feature of their lives at this time. Everywhere, people found an event that distracted them from following the news of wars, crises, and tensions that dominate what the media broadcasts around the clock. They had good times full of excitement, enthusiasm, fun, and anticipation as they followed teams competing in the most famous game. They were able to sit with their families and friends to follow something joyful that both adults and children share an interest in. It was days and nights like a short vacation for the mind and…
There was a space for screens to prolong the time of broadcasting World Cup details at the expense of airing clips of wars, destruction, and human tragedies. A sporting event proved man's need for anything that takes him out of the spiral that made him dizzy and nauseous from what he sees and hears of the consequences of politics, which produced problems in all forms, shapes, and types, and he alone bears them, while those responsible live the luxury of life in their high towers, giving speeches and making statements to convince people of the correctness of their decisions.
Man does not aspire to a perfect world and an ideal life free of troubles, but he hopes to live in a world that is less bad than what he has come to live in. He believed that the tremendous development in all sciences would ensure a more comfortable and reassuring life for man, but he discovered that this development is harnessed more for death than for life. Arms factories use modern technologies more than pharmaceutical factories and useful research centers. Mass destruction at the push of a button is easier and faster than providing a meal, a dose of water, or a pill to millions of victims in various parts of the earth due to absurd wars. Human life has turned into constant anxiety and continuous fear of what might happen today or tomorrow, and therefore the moments of escaping this nightmare become immense joy that deserves the utmost celebration.
The World Cup carnival has disbanded, and people will be forced to return to living reality. Short is the World Cup of joy, and very long is the World Cup of madness.
