Al-Fateh Club announced the signing of Khaled Al-Atwi to lead the technical helm of the first football team for the new sports season, according to a post on platform 'X' on Tuesday. Al-Atwi began his coaching duties in the 2008 season with Al-Oyoun Club, supervising the club's youth, and after a season moved as assistant coach for Al-Fateh's youth, then returned to Al-Oyoun as head coach of the first team and led them to promotion to the second division, from which he moved to Al-Nujoom in Al-Ahsa to start again with age groups, before the management gave him leadership of the first team which was in the third division, and within three years he took them to the first division via the second. On June 14, 2016, Al-Atwi was appointed head coach of the Saudi U-20 national team, and in 2018 he led the Youth Hawks to the Asian U-19 title, earning him selection as the best Saudi and Asian coach that season, and led the Green in the 2019 Netherlands World Cup, to begin a new journey with Al-Ettifaq in the 2019-2020 season, then passed through Al-Qadsiah in the Yelo League before leaving for Damac, and in mid-May of this year, Al-Atwi led Al-Diriyah to a major achievement by promoting to the Saudi Roshn League for the first time after being appointed as a replacement for the Dutchman Alfred Schroeder. It is noteworthy that Al-Riyadiya revealed on July 9, citing its own sources, that Al-Atwi is close to coaching 'Al-Namuthaji' next season.
