Football Association Presidency: Al-Razizah First Candidate; Al-Shehri and Khimi Awaiting
Bader Al-Razizah, former chairman of Al-Qadsiah, announced his candidacy for the presidency of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation on Friday, according to a post on his X account. Al-Razizah is the first official candidate to succeed Yasser Al-Mishal, who recently resigned following the Saudi national team's exit from the group stage of the 2026 World Cup. According to sources from Al-Riyadiya, a number of other names are expected to officially announce their candidacies in the coming days, including Muayyad Al-Shehri and Hatem Khimi. The elections committee of the Football Federation approved the election timeline and opened nominations from July 22 to August 1, with candidate lists to be reviewed from August 2 to 7. The Saudi Sports Arbitration Center will receive appeals and complaints regarding the lists from August 9 to 13, with decisions to be made from August 15 to 23, and results announced on August 24.
