Saudi club Al-Ittihad has entered the race to sign Moroccan midfielder Azzedine Ounahi, in an attempt to secure his services despite the advanced negotiations between the player and Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam.

The French website Football Club de Marseille, citing Italian journalist Gianluigi Longari, explained that Al-Ittihad has taken steps to convince the Moroccan international to move to the Saudi Roshn League, despite the player being close to reaching a final agreement with Ajax.

The report indicated that Ounahi has a near-final agreement with the Dutch club, but Al-Ittihad still hopes to change the course of the deal and convince the player to join its ranks during the current summer transfer window.

In the same context, no indicators have yet emerged to confirm Al-Ittihad's superiority over Ajax in the race to sign the player, nor has an agreement been reached between the Saudi club and Ounahi, leaving negotiations open pending the outcome of the coming days.
