Minister of Sports Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal issued a decision appointing an interim board of directors for the Saudi Arabian Lacrosse Federation for the term from 2024 to 2028, chaired by Fahd Al-Muammar, as part of efforts to develop the sport and strengthen institutional work to achieve the goals of the sports sector.

This decision is part of the Ministry of Sports' plans to develop sports federations and achieve the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in the sports sector.

The federation explained in a statement that the interim board of directors will include: Fahd Mohammed Al-Muammar as Chairman, Samer Nahed Al-Sorani as Vice Chairman, and members: Henouf Mohammed Al-Hadif, Israa Mansour Asiri, Faisal Fawaz Al-Alami, Mishari Abdulrahman Al-Asilan, and Saud Mabrouk Al-Abdulaziz.

According to the statement, the interim board will focus on building an integrated system for lacrosse by increasing the number of practitioners, spreading the sport across regions, improving technical and administrative performance, and developing national teams for various age groups, to support the Kingdom's participation in Gulf, Asian, continental, and international championships.

The board will also launch qualitative initiatives to discover and develop talent, enable the participation of women and juniors, as well as enhance cooperation with sports and educational entities and the private sector, and build strategic partnerships that contribute to spreading the sport and expanding its practice, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 aimed at supporting the sports sector, increasing the number of practitioners, and achieving sporting excellence at the regional and international levels.

The federation affirmed that this formation is a continuation of development efforts that began since its establishment, through development programs, camps, and local and international tournaments, reflecting the growing popularity of the sport in the Kingdom.

The Saudi Arabian Lacrosse Federation concluded its statement by congratulating the board members, wishing them success and guidance in leading the next phase, and continuing to achieve accomplishments that contribute to developing the sport and enhancing the Kingdom's position on the lacrosse map regionally and internationally.

The interim board seeks to accelerate the growth of lacrosse in the Kingdom by expanding the base of practitioners and enhancing female and youth participation. These measures are expected to raise the level of the sport locally and enable the Kingdom to be strongly represented in regional and international forums.
