Shock: Senegal discovers that national team doctor is an OB/GYN specialist
Scandals continue for the Senegal national team during their participation in the 2026 World Cup, as Abdallah Fall, president of the Senegalese Football Federation, revealed that Abdourahmane Fedior, the team doctor who remained in charge for 10 years, is primarily an obstetrician and gynecologist.
Senegal players complained about the team camp held in America for the 2026 World Cup after the federation refused to cover the travel of the team's cook to reduce costs, forcing them to rely on "delivery apps" for their meals.
Abdallah Fall came out in a stormy press conference on Monday to talk about the problems facing the Senegal national team that led to the dismissal of coach Pape Thiaw. He said: 'After scrutiny, we discovered that the first team doctor who has worked with the 'Lions of Teranga' for 10 years is primarily an obstetrician and gynecologist and was not academically qualified to oversee the players. The players did not trust him or his treatment plans.'
Senegal exited the 2026 World Cup in the round of 32 after losing to Belgium 3-2.
