Media reports have revealed the truth about the return of Brazilian midfielder Fabinho to Al-Ittihad's plans for the upcoming season, under the leadership of new German head coach Jens Fissinger.

Fabinho's contract with Al-Ittihad ended at the end of last season, without the Saudi club making an offer to renew his contract for an additional period, leading all speculation to point to his permanent departure.

However, the past hours saw some new reports about the possibility of Fabinho returning to the 'Tigers' plans, through an offer to renew his contract for an additional period.

Trusted journalist Ben Jacobs responded to those reports in a tweet via his official account on 'X', confirming they are completely baseless.

Ben Jacobs wrote: "Fabinho is still on his way to leaving Al-Ittihad, despite the suggestions about a new contract. Al-Ittihad is focusing on younger players."

Fabinho joined Al-Ittihad in the summer of 2023 from Liverpool, contributing to the team's double of the Roshn Saudi League and the King's Cup in the season before last.

The 32-year-old participated in 111 matches with "Al-Omied" during the past three years, scoring 7 goals and providing 9 assists.
