It appears that Argentine fans have not yet accepted the reality of their national team's 1-0 loss to Spain in the final of the 2026 World Cup.

After the match, Argentine fans expressed their anger, and many conspiracy theories spread, along with campaigns calling for the match to be replayed.

Spanish newspaper AS reported on Thursday that Argentine fans expressed their anger on social media over the arrival of a Spanish plane in their country.

It explained: 'A plane bearing the Spanish national team's logo and image of its players was spotted in Buenos Aires... This upset some Argentines, who claimed that the Spanish airline was trying to mock them after La Roja won the World Cup.'

Spain had won the World Cup after defeating Argentina 1-0 with a goal by Ferran Torres in extra time.

Despite the bitter defeat, tens of thousands of Argentine fans took to the streets after the final whistle to express their support and gratitude to the national team for reaching the final and coming close to winning the title for the second consecutive time.
