Jeddah, 07 Safar 1448 AH corresponding to 21 July 2026 SPA – The competitions of the Makkah Region Kurash Championship, organized by the Saudi Kurash Committee over three days at the Olympic Hall of Jeddah Club, concluded with the participation of 43 male and female players competing in 14 weight categories across various age groups. The championship witnessed strong competitions characterized by competitiveness and excitement, culminating in 13 male and female players winning gold medals in different categories and weights, affirming the continuous development of the sport of Kurash. In the men's competitions, in the (60) kg weight category, player Abdulrahman Al-Harbi won the gold medal; in the (73) kg category, Khaled Al-Harbi claimed the gold medal; Abdulaziz Al-Khalidi won the gold medal in the (90) kg category; Rayan Al-Jahni earned the gold medal in the (100) kg category; and Saad Al-Bishi won the gold medal in the +100 kg category. In the women's competitions, Dunya Gharib won the gold medal in the (65) kg category after defeating Wudyan Al-Mawlid, who won the silver medal. In the youth under-17 competitions, Malik Al-Qurashi won the gold medal in the (50) kg category; Fares Saleh won the gold medal in the (60) kg category; Youssef Dabbagh earned the gold medal in the (66) kg category; and Abdullah Al-Zahrani won the gold medal in the (73) kg category. In the girls under-17 competitions, Asma Turki won the gold medal in the (63) kg category, while Razen Mirabi earned the gold medal in the (70) kg category.
