Summer Transfer Window Opens Today... 46 Days to Finalize Deals
Al Jazeera - Tariq Al Aboudi:
Today, Wednesday, July 22, the first player registration period, the 'Summer Transfer Window,' begins, lasting 46 days until September 6, opening the door for Saudi Roshen League clubs to complete their technical files and finalize deals that meet their needs before the start of the new season.
At the same time, the registration period for First Division League clubs begins until September 20, while it continues for Second Division clubs until October 6, for the Third and Fourth Divisions until October 12. The registration period for Under-21 League clubs also extends until September 20, while for other age groups it continues until November 19.
Although Roshen League club administrations have been working on contract files for weeks and have already announced a number of deals, the pace of activity remains lower than previous seasons, both in terms of quantity and the quality of the names announced, suggesting that the bulk of moves may be postponed to the coming weeks, as technical staff needs become clearer and all players return from their preparatory camps.
So far, Al-Ahli appears to be the most active in the foreign transfer market, having succeeded in strengthening several positions with new names, confirming its desire to enter the next season strongly, as did Al-Qadsiah.
In contrast, Al-Hilal has prioritized the local market, attracting a number of young talents and Saudi players, while evaluating its current roster during the preparatory camp before making final decisions on any additional foreign reinforcement.
Saudi Economy
The coming weeks are expected to see an increase in the pace of deals, especially with the approach of the start of competitions and clubs entering a race against time to finalize their technical needs before the transfer window closes.
