The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) uses a Power Ranking system to give individual ratings to players in the World Cup, based on data collected during matches.

Unlike traditional round-of-the-tournament lineups, which are determined based on the opinions of journalists or analysts, the Power Ranking relies on a methodology based on objective data extracted from matches.

All players who participate for at least 20 minutes receive a performance rating, noting that goalkeepers are evaluated according to two main axes: performance while in possession of the ball, and performance without possession.

Among the highest-rated players in the tournament, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé stand out, while in the goalkeeping position, Egypt's Mostafa Shobeir comes among the top 5 goalkeepers in the tournament so far.

Shobeir had an ideal run with the Pharaohs in the World Cup, before bidding farewell to the tournament with a heartbreaking 2-3 loss to Argentina.

Spanish newspaper 'AS' reported that Spain's Unai Simón ranks fifth among goalkeepers in FIFA's Power Ranking.

Ahead of Simón are Diogo Costa (Portugal), Gregor Kobel (Switzerland), Orlando Gill (Paraguay), and Mostafa Shobeir (Egypt).

In his 63rd match with the Spanish national team, Unai Simón reached 518 minutes without conceding a goal, recording the longest clean sheet streak in World Cup history.
