The U.S. President said during a reception held at Trump Tower in New York City, in the presence of FIFA President Gianni Infantino, ahead of the tournament's final, that the World Cup achieved exceptional success, praising its organization and the large public turnout it has witnessed since its launch.

For his part, Infantino confirmed that the tournament exceeded all expectations, noting that the United States fulfilled its commitment to welcome the world, and that the fans who attended the matches enjoyed their experience, along with millions who followed the tournament's competitions from around the world, praising the cooperation with the U.S. administration in organizing the tournament.

The two sides discussed during the meeting the future of the World Cup, including a proposal to expand the number of participating teams to 64 in the 2030 edition, without announcing a formal decision on the matter.
