The Spanish Football Federation removed a picture of US President Donald Trump from the official photos of the 2026 World Cup victory celebrations.

Spain's national team won the World Cup for the second time in its history, after defeating Argentina 1-0 yesterday Sunday in the final match that extended to two extra time periods at MetLife Stadium in the United States.

Trump attended the trophy presentation ceremony for the Spanish players and insisted on standing next to them in the official World Cup trophy photo, rejecting attempts by FIFA President Gianni Infantino to walk away.

Trump's presence at the commemorative photo session for the title celebration caused some tension and awkward moments, as the Spanish players and coaching staff wanted the photo to focus on them without interference from political figures.

The Spanish Federation published via its official accounts on social media a photo of La Roja's World Cup trophy ceremony, but without Trump.

Trump had done the same thing during Chelsea's Club World Cup triumph last summer, staying next to the Blues players until a photo was taken of lifting the trophy, which was also held in the United States.
