The Saudi national football team jumped three places in the FIFA World Rankings announced on Tuesday after the conclusion of the 2026 World Cup, which was won by Spain after they beat Argentina 1-0 in the final. Saudi Arabia ranked 58th globally and fifth in Asia, led by Japan (17), Iran (22), Australia (28), and South Korea (32), while Qatar (59), Uzbekistan (10), Iraq (63), UAE (68), and Jordan (73) dropped. Spain topped the rankings, with Argentina second, France third, England fourth, Brazil fifth, Morocco sixth (their best ever), Portugal seventh (down two), Belgium eighth, Netherlands ninth, and Mexico tenth. Norway made the biggest jump, up 12 places to 19th, while Tunisia fell 12 places to 57th. Egypt ranked 24th, Panama dropped 60 points to 44th, DR Congo 41st, and Cape Verde rose three places to 64th.
