Al-Midan sources have learned that the agent of Salem Al-Dawsari, captain of the Saudi national team and Al-Hilal club, informed the club's management of a verbal offer from Al-Diriyah club to sign the player during the current summer transfer window.

Al-Hilal's management requested a formal written offer from Al-Diriyah including the deal details, before studying it and making the appropriate decision. However, the club has not received any formal offer from Al-Diriyah as of the time of preparing this news.

Salem Al-Dawsari is under contract with Al-Hilal until summer 2027, after the club renewed his contract for two seasons in May 2025. Meanwhile, Al-Diriyah is preparing for its first season in the Saudi Pro League after its historic promotion at the end of last season. Regarding foreign players, Richard Hughes, Al-Hilal's sporting director, insists on not entering negotiations with new players before finalizing the departure of the Brazilian duo Malcom Filipe and Uruguayan Darwin Nunez, and ending their association with the club during the summer transfer window.

Al-Hilal is also moving towards contracting a new foreign defender to replace Senegalese Kalidou Koulibaly in the local squad, with Koulibaly to be registered in the Asian squad, given the expected duration of his treatment and rehabilitation from injury.

In the same context, Portuguese Joao Cancelo informed Al-Hilal officials of his desire to return permanently to Barcelona after the end of his loan spell at the Spanish club at the end of last season.

Al-Hilal requested a formal offer from Barcelona including the contract terms, but the management has not yet received any offer from the Catalan club, prompting it to inform Cancelo that he must join the team's camp in Austria immediately after his vacation, as he is under contract with Al-Hilal.
