The Spanish monarch, King Felipe VI, is preparing to travel to the United States to attend the 2026 World Cup final, scheduled for next Sunday at the East Rutherford Stadium near New York.

The Royal Palace confirmed on Wednesday, in statements reported by the Spanish newspaper Sport, that the king will attend the match with his family, saying, 'All four will go,' referring to King Felipe VI, his wife Queen Letizia, and their daughters Princesses Leonor and Sofia.

The royal family's attendance comes after the Spanish team qualified for the final following their deserved 2-0 victory over France in the semifinal held on Tuesday evening in Texas, putting them one step away from winning their second World Cup title in history, as they await the winner of the match between Argentina and England.

The Spanish coach, Luis de la Fuente, revealed after the match that he had received a phone call from King Felipe VI. De la Fuente said, 'It is a great honor that our king calls us and constantly shows us his interest and encouragement. We are the ones who made an entire country happy.'

The king had watched the semifinal match with his family in Barcelona, and appeared in a widely circulated video celebrating enthusiastically with his wife and daughters after the goal that secured qualification for the final.

Spain is in the final! 🇪🇸

You have once again shown why you are one of the great teams in the world. Now, with an entire country by your side, it's time to fight for the title.
