Barcelona began preparations for the new season on Monday morning, as the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper resumed activity with the start of the usual medical and physical tests that precede the pre-season period.

According to Mundo Deportivo, German coach Hansi Flick, who is preparing for his third season in charge of Barça, was the first to arrive at the training ground.

Barcelona will play their first La Liga match in the second round, after their opening fixture was postponed due to the participation of 10 of their players with their national teams in the World Cup semi-finals.

Academy player Toni Fernández was the first to arrive at the Ciutat Esportiva, despite ongoing uncertainty about his future at the club, as he begins a new summer under Flick's leadership.

Immediately after him, Hamza Abdelkarim arrived, who had only a very short rest after participating with the Egyptian national team in the World Cup.

Also among the first to arrive was Ronny Bardghi, who officially began the pre-season with Barcelona, although his future remains uncertain, as he may go out on loan next season.

Among the first first-team players to undergo medical tests was midfielder Marc Casadó, while goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen received special attention after attending for medicals, as his future at the club remains to be decided.

Both Alejandro Balde and Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny also began their preparations for the new season, with the latter continuing his journey with the Catalan team.

The first day also saw the presence of Fermín López, while Héctor Fort, Marc Bernal, Gerard Martín, and Andreas Christensen joined the start of the pre-season.
