Antonela Roccuzzo, wife of star Lionel Messi, broke her silence following the wave of harsh criticism directed at the Argentine national team after its 1-0 loss to Spain in the 2026 World Cup final.

The partner of star Lionel Messi expressed her full support for "La Albiceleste" on her Instagram account, where she reposted a message from writer and journalist Connie Ansaldi that read: "Proud to be Argentine. Argentina is just like a family; we may disagree and quarrel among ourselves, but if someone from outside comes and disrespects us, we will tear out his liver."

This post came as the first explicit and direct response to the attack on the team following the events and altercations that occurred after the final match.

After returning to her hometown of Rosario with her family, Antonela also interacted with a post by Argentine singer María Becerra, who had performed the national anthem before the kickoff of the final.

Roccuzzo commented on the post, saying: "May Argentina, with its great potential, last forever," thus reaffirming her steadfast support for her country's national team amid the widespread controversy and media bickering surrounding the end of the global event, as reported by RMC Sport network.
