Member of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Football Association, Mostafa Abu Zahra, confirmed that the national team captain, Mohamed Salah, will continue to play internationally for several more years, dismissing the possibility of his retirement after the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, despite his advancing age.

Abu Zahra said in remarks on the Egyptian channel 'Sada El Balad': 'Mohamed Salah will not retire after the 2026 World Cup, and he will be the captain of the Egyptian national team in the 2030 World Cup, along with coach Hossam Hassan.'
