With Saudi Interest, Barcelona Sets Conditions for Casadó's Departure
Spanish midfielder Marc Casadó has become one of the leading names tipped to leave Barcelona during the current summer transfer window, as the Catalan club seeks to profit from his sale without making any financial concessions.
According to Spanish press reports, Barcelona's management has set a minimum of €20 million to approve Casadó's sale, with the required fee rising to €25 million if the player moves to a Saudi League club.
Barcelona Rejects Low-Value Offers
Despite receiving several offers in recent weeks, the club has rejected all proposals that did not meet its financial valuation of the player.
The Catalan club could have sold Casadó before June 30 to improve its financial results and close the fiscal year better, but the offers received did not exceed €12 million, and some proposals included only selling a percentage of the player's rights, prompting the management to postpone a decision while awaiting an offer that meets its demands.
Player's Stance
Casadó has repeatedly expressed his willingness to stay with Barcelona if he is part of head coach Hansi Flick's plans, though he also understands that his chances of starting may be limited next season.
For this reason, the player believes that leaving might be the best option to ensure regular playing time and continue his development, provided he moves to a sporting project that gives him a key role within the team.
Mendes' Role and Interest from England and Saudi Arabia
The player's agent, Portuguese Jorge Mendes, continues to evaluate available offers and work on finding the right destination, with interest from Premier League clubs as well as Saudi League clubs.
Casadó's name was brought up during negotiations for the Karim Adeyemi transfer, but the difference in valuation between Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund prevented his inclusion in the deal, which was concluded separately.
Priority to Europe Before Deciding Future
Despite two options from the Saudi League, those close to the player are currently prioritizing European offers.
It is not ruled out that Casadó will join Barcelona's preseason camp before finalizing his future, especially as the club's management is not rushing the deal and prefers to wait for an offer that matches its financial valuation and the player's sporting vision.
