Lamine Yamal, the young star of the Spanish national team, expressed his great admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo, even though his country's team succeeded in eliminating Portugal from the 2026 World Cup a few days ago.

Yamal said in media statements: 'Charisma is when someone enters a place, and you immediately feel that their presence is different from everyone else,' stressing that some personalities have an exceptional impact just by appearing.

The young Barcelona player added: 'It's like seeing a star in a movie and saying: Wow! Like Brad Pitt,' before pointing out that this description applies to Ronaldo more than any other player in football.

Yamal continued: 'In football, Cristiano is the best example of charisma,' in a clear praise of the status enjoyed by the Portugal captain on and off the pitch.

Yamal's remarks carry special significance because he previously faced Ronaldo with the Spanish national team, and was one of the elements of the Spanish team that defeated Portugal and eliminated 'the Navigators' from the World Cup, in a match considered one of the tournament's most prominent encounters.

Despite the large age gap between the two stars, Yamal affirmed his great respect for Ronaldo, noting that his influence goes beyond goals and numbers, extending to presence, personality, and the ability to assert himself in any place he is in.
