Juventus has parted ways with Frenchman Francois Modesto, its technical and sporting director, just one year after his arrival as part of the project of his compatriot Damien Comolli, who left his position as general manager last June, according to an announcement by the most decorated club in Italian Serie A football on Friday. Juventus issued a press statement saying: 'Juventus announces that it has reached an amicable agreement with Francois Modesto to terminate his duties as technical director with immediate effect, and the club thanks him for the dedication and professionalism shown during his tenure and wishes him all the best in his professional career and personal projects.' Modesto, 47, a former defender for Bastia (1998–1999 and 2013–2016) and Monaco (2004–2010), previously served as technical director at English club Nottingham Forest (2019–2022) and then at Monza (2022–2024). In early June, Comolli was dismissed due to disagreements with first-team coach Luciano Spalletti, as well as a costly and disappointing transfer campaign. Juventus finished last season in sixth place in the league, and were eliminated in the playoff round for the Champions League round of 16 by Turkish side Galatasaray.
