Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Engineer Abdullah bin Amer Al-Swaha, accompanied by the Governor of the Communications, Space and Technology Commission, Engineer Haitham Al-Ohali, held a series of meetings with several government and executive leaders in the Chinese capital, Beijing, with the aim of enhancing the Saudi-Chinese partnership and expanding horizons of cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence, digital economy, advanced technologies, and space.

On the level of governmental relations, Al-Swaha met with Chinese Minister of Industry and Information Technology Li Lichang. The meeting discussed expanding partnership in artificial intelligence, digital economy, and emerging technologies, as well as localizing advanced technologies and enhancing joint initiatives in the sectors of communications, advanced manufacturing, and innovation.

In the field of space, Al-Swaha, as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Space Agency, met with the President of the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), Zhu Jie. The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in localizing space technologies, developing national capabilities in satellite manufacturing, and transferring technical knowledge.

The minister also met with the founder and Chairman of Meituan, Wang Xing. The two sides discussed opportunities for cooperation in employing artificial intelligence within digital services, developing smart logistics solutions, and smart city applications.

These meetings are part of the Kingdom's ongoing efforts to strengthen its international partnerships in the technology and space sectors, and to expand cooperation pathways in advanced technologies, contributing to building national capabilities and enhancing the competitiveness of the digital economy.
