Leaks indicate that Google will reuse a flagship-class processor, the Tensor G6, in the upcoming budget Pixel 11a.

The Pixel 10a came with the previous-generation Tensor G4 processor instead of the Tensor G5 found in the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro. This was a major disappointment because the Pixel A series typically used the latest processor, while reducing some other specs to keep costs low.

It is rumored that the Tensor G6 will feature the same PowerVR DXT-48-1536 GPU as the Tensor G5, but it will still be an upgrade over the Mali-G715 GPU used in the Tensor G4, according to a report by tech news site The Verge, seen by Al Arabiya Business.

The most notable upgrade is that the Tensor G6 will drop Samsung's Exynos modems in favor of the MediaTek M90 modem. This is expected to address two long-standing issues with Tensor processors: battery drain and signal drops.

The Pixel 11a is expected to feature a slightly smaller battery with a capacity of 4,870 mAh, compared to the 5,000 mAh battery in the current model, but efficiency improvements from the new processor should maintain or even slightly improve battery life.

The phone will also retain a 6.3-inch display with 1080 x 2424 resolution and a variable refresh rate between 60 and 120 Hz, but will get a peak brightness increase to 3,350 nits, up from 3,000 nits on the Pixel 10a.
