Science and Technology / Al-Swaha holds meetings in Hong Kong to strengthen partnerships in artificial intelligence and technical innovation

Hong Kong, 23 Muharram 1448 AH corresponding to 08 July 2026 (SPA) - His Excellency Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Al-Swaha held a number of bilateral meetings in Hong Kong as part of his visit and participation in the LEAP East conference; to enhance technical partnerships between the Kingdom and Hong Kong, expand areas of partnership in artificial intelligence, advanced technologies, and develop the technical innovation ecosystem.

The meetings included a meeting between His Excellency and His Excellency Professor Sun Dong, Minister of Innovation, Technology and Industry of Hong Kong, to discuss prospects for cooperation in artificial intelligence, advanced technologies, and the development of the technical innovation ecosystem between the two sides. He also met with Cordelia Cheng, Chairperson of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP), to discuss opportunities for cooperation in enabling startups and developing national talent pathways in promising technical fields. His Excellency also held a meeting with Dr. Xu Li, CEO and Executive Chairman of SenseTime, to discuss advanced artificial intelligence applications and opportunities for their deployment in vital sectors, thereby enhancing technical innovation and opening new horizons for qualitative partnerships in the digital economy. // End // 16:54 Mecca Time 0167
