Communications, Space and Technology Commission Reviews Development of Digital Infrastructure in the Kingdom
The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) issued the 'Internet Saudi Arabia 2025' report in its fifth edition, highlighting key internet usage indicators in the Kingdom. It revealed that the adoption rate of AI tools among internet users in the Kingdom reached 45.2%, indicating a trend of keeping up with and adopting the latest technologies. The average mobile data consumption per person reached 53 GB per month, three times the global average. The median mobile download speed reached 216 Mbps, placing the Kingdom among the top five G20 countries in this indicator, confirming the development of digital infrastructure and the improvement in service quality. The report stated that 61.3% of users spend seven hours or more per day on the internet, reflecting the widespread digital reliance in various aspects of daily life. It also reviewed usage patterns of applications and digital services in the Kingdom, including the most used and downloaded apps in social media, government, sports, and AI sectors, along with analyzing differences in usage patterns among different groups. It highlighted the annual growth rate of Saudi domain names, which reached 18%, reflecting enhanced reliability in internet browsing in the Kingdom. The report covered additional indicators related to the development of the digital ecosystem, including the fastest-growing applications, browsing patterns, most used search engines, and the growth of Saudi domain name registrations, reflecting the growth of local digital content and the expanding contribution of the digital economy in the Kingdom. This is part of the Commission's ongoing efforts to monitor the evolution of the internet ecosystem and improve the efficiency of digital services to support innovation and growth.
