The China-Arab Media Dialogue 2026 forum, organized by the China-Arab Center for Reform and Development in cooperation with Shanghai International Studies University, began in Shanghai with representatives from media outlets, diplomats, and academics from Arab countries and China.

Participants addressed the role of media in supporting Sino-Arab relations and enhancing mutual understanding between the two peoples. They reviewed mechanisms for developing media cooperation in light of rapid digital transformations and exchanged expertise in the fields of communication and international media.

Speakers stressed the importance of continuing media dialogue between the two sides, enhancing professional communication, and exchanging expertise to contribute to a more comprehensive and objective portrayal, and to consolidate bridges of cooperation between Arab and Chinese media institutions.

The forum discussed the role of artificial intelligence technologies in the global media content industry, affirming that employing these technologies opens new horizons for cooperation and expertise exchange between media institutions in both countries.

Participants also reviewed opportunities for cooperation in digital media, content production, media research, and talent training programs, to enhance media partnership between Arab and Chinese institutions.

The forum coincides with the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the People's Republic of China and Arab countries, within the framework of efforts to expand areas of dialogue and enhance media and academic cooperation between the two sides.
