The Huawei Nova 16 series has recorded over 1 million units sold in China within just 39 days of its official launch, making it one of the most prominent mid-range phones of 2026 despite declining demand in the Chinese smartphone market this year.

Huawei focused on a gradient color back design for the Nova 16, keeping up with recent design trends, leveraging the strong popularity of the Pura 90 series.

The series also retained the Kirin 9010S processor used in the previous generation, with software improvements provided by HarmonyOS 6.1.

Reports suggest that Huawei plans to launch a new generation of Nova phones by the end of this year, as part of its return to the usual annual schedule that includes one or two new devices from the Enjoy and Nova series each year.
