King Abdulaziz Public Library Launches 'AI Generation' Summer Camp
The General Administration for Children at the King Abdulaziz Public Library in Riyadh has launched the 'AI Generation' summer camp, a qualitative initiative aimed at developing the skills of children, adolescents, and youth in the fields of technology, artificial intelligence, and innovation, through an educational experience that combines technical, cultural, and recreational aspects.
The camp targets the age group from 9 to 15 years old and offers an integrated training program spanning eight training days, from July 12 to August 5, 2026, with two days per week. Participants will learn the basics of robotics, programming, game design, and 3D printing, along with cultural and recreational activities that enhance creative thinking, teamwork, leadership, and communication.
The Director General of the General Administration for Children at the King Abdulaziz Public Library, Ms. Sundus Al-Sharif, emphasized that the camp stems from the administration's keenness to provide qualitative programs that align with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and contribute to preparing a generation with future skills, through an interactive educational environment based on practical application that fosters a spirit of innovation and discovery among children and adolescents.
She added that the program is not limited to teaching technical skills but also focuses on character building, boosting self-confidence, and honing presentation and critical thinking skills, providing a comprehensive educational experience that enriches participants knowledge-wise and skill-wise.
The camp concludes with a presentation of the projects completed by the participants before a judging panel, a step that reflects the knowledge and skills they have acquired and underscores the importance of investing in young energies and creating a generation capable of keeping pace with rapid technological transformations.
It is worth noting that the King Abdulaziz Public Library offers various programs for children and youth, including developing artistic skills and talents, reading programs, learning about handicrafts through special workshops for children, enhancing drawing and calligraphy skills, presenting theatrical performances for children, as well as regularly updated qualitative publications of stories and books that nurture children's culture.
