Microsoft is gearing up for this year's edition of its annual developer conference Build 2026, which kicks off today, Tuesday, June 2 at 7:30 PM Saudi time, with a keynote address by CEO Satya Nadella.

This year's conference focuses on the future of artificial intelligence and delivering new tools for the developer community, as the company highlights what it calls the 'age of AI.'

The keynote is expected to address the opportunities Microsoft is offering developers amid the current wave of technological change, especially after the company reviewed its AI strategy following increasing criticism of recent Windows 11 policies.

According to indications, Microsoft and its partner OpenAI are moving toward a more open partnership, with a redesigned Copilot for business and the removal of the AI assistant from some applications.

Nevertheless, interactive AI is expected to feature prominently at the event, amidst changes in the underlying models and a rollout of features based on target audiences.

Beyond software, Build 2026 may bring news on the hardware front; expectations point to a potential collaboration between Microsoft and NVIDIA, which is developing new Arm chips to compete with Qualcomm's solutions, coinciding with hints from company officials and the posting of teaser images of what appears to be a new device.

Notably, information about new hardware comes as the conference coincides with Computex in Taiwan, sparking speculation about the emergence of PCs with a different vision.

Microsoft Build 2026 runs through June 3, with sessions and technical workshops available to stream live on the official YouTube channel, along with continuous updates on the company blog.
