China unveils a phone that transcends the era of touch screens

Chinese company 'Step Fen' has unveiled a new phone named StepX Neo, in a move that may pave the way for a different phase in the smartphone world, as it relies on what is known as agent artificial intelligence capable of executing tasks on behalf of the user. According to the company, the phone's role is not limited to answering questions or providing suggestions, but it can understand the user's request and analyze it into a series of sequential steps, then select the appropriate applications and execute the complete task without the need for manual navigation between different applications. The phone runs on the company's developed Step AOS system, and includes an intelligent agent named Step Amoo, designed to manage daily tasks automatically, giving the user an experience based on commands and results rather than traditional interaction with apps. The company says the phone is capable of performing some tasks even when not connected to the internet, which may give it an additional advantage compared to a number of AI services that rely entirely on cloud connectivity, but it has not announced a launch date.
