Rockstar announced that the new installment in the Grand Theft Auto series, titled GTA 6, will be available at a price of approximately $80 for the standard edition, while the price of the Ultimate Edition will be around $100.
GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The company allows users who pre-order the game to pre-load it starting November 12, whether via digital or physical edition.
For the first time in the series' history, the physical edition will not include a disc inside the case; instead, users will receive only a digital download code.
This shift has raised questions among some players about the viability of buying the physical edition, given the difficulty of reselling it later or sharing it as is customary with traditional discs.
Rockstar attributed this move to its desire to limit unofficial resales and content leaks before launch, which aligns with industry trends in recent years.

On the other hand, games journalist Vic Hood considered the pricing “relatively reasonable” compared to the game's size and expected cost, noting that the high cost may become a new standard for blockbuster games in the future.
The Ultimate Edition will offer additional content including new vehicles, weapons, and outfits for characters. The game will also feature, for the first time, a playable female protagonist (Lucia), alongside the character Jason.
These details come after years of development that saw several delays, leaks, and administrative difficulties within the company. GTA 6 is one of the most anticipated games of the year, with expectations of setting new records upon launch, after GTA V sales surpassed 230 million copies worldwide.
