Samsung is preparing to launch its new foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide, this July, three months after Huawei introduced its Pura X Max, which is considered the first device in the category of foldable phones with a wide design.

According to leaks, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide will come with a main foldable screen measuring 7.6 inches, along with an external screen of 5.4 inches, specifications that are very close to Huawei's Pura X Max, with a slight difference in the internal screen dimensions favoring Huawei.

Samsung's upcoming phone focuses on offering a screen with no noticeable creases, with an ultra-slim design reaching only 4.5 mm, making it one of the company's thinnest foldable devices.

The phone is expected to be powered by a fifth-generation Snapdragon processor, with two rear cameras each of 50 megapixels (main and wide lens), and a battery capacity of 5000 mAh.

Huawei's entry into this category via the Pura X Max sparked a new wave in the foldable phone market and shifted traditional design trends, while Samsung prepares to offer a direct competitor focusing on a wider display and a different user experience from conventional devices.

So far, Samsung has not announced the official launch date for the phone, but all indications point to an event in July 2026.
