The Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence (SDAIA) has obtained two excellence certificates in the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Awards 2026, organized by the International Telecommunication Union in Geneva, Switzerland, in recognition of the excellence of its national projects and its contributions to the adoption and empowerment of data and artificial intelligence in accordance with best global practices.

The organizers explained that the first excellence certificate was awarded to the Open Data Platform project, within the category of access to information and knowledge, for the platform’s contribution to enhancing the availability of government data, raising the level of transparency, supporting innovation, and enabling researchers, entrepreneurs, and various entities to benefit from open data in developing services and creating digital solutions.

The organizing body added that SDAIA received the second excellence certificate for the Artificial Intelligence Index in the enabling environment category, in appreciation of its role in measuring the readiness of entities, promoting the adoption of artificial intelligence technologies, supporting decision-making, and contributing to building an integrated national ecosystem based on data and innovation, thereby enhancing the Kingdom's competitiveness in this field.
