iFixit, a site specializing in disassembling electronic devices, has revealed that the T1 phone from 'Trump Mobile' is practically no different from the HTC U24 Pro, except for some limited modifications to the battery and exterior design.

The report, based on an examination of a unit obtained by NBC News, stated that the two phones share most of the same internal components, such as the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 512 GB of storage.

The iFixit team noted that the battery is the most notable functional difference: the T1 has a slightly larger capacity but supports only 30W fast charging, compared to about 60W for the HTC U24 Pro. The report also observed minor cosmetic changes, including repositioning of the camera module and speaker grille pattern, as well as the phone's distinctive gold finish.

Despite the high similarity between the two devices, the report noted a limited difference in some components: the Trump phone uses a board from Micron, while the HTC phone uses similar components from SK Hynix.

Trump Mobile had initially promoted the phone as 'Made in the United States' at its launch, before later revising its description to state that it is 'proudly assembled in the United States.' The company also describes the phone as having 'American design' and 'American values,' without providing clear details about the nature of these claims.

iFixit experts believe that manufacturing the entire phone in the United States is currently impossible due to the lack of the necessary industrial infrastructure to produce all components locally.

According to the company, assembly in the U.S. is limited to assembling a small number of parts, estimated at about ten components.

The report revealed that the phone's battery is manufactured in the Philippines, while most of its other components come from China. Based on an analysis of the supply chain, production costs, and time-to-market, iFixit concluded that the T1 phone relies on the same production lines and manufacturing tools used for the HTC U24 Pro.

The report concluded that the Trump T1 phone is fundamentally a device designed and manufactured in China, with extensive reliance on Chinese components, even amid marketing messages that emphasize its 'American identity' when promoted in the United States.
