While most regions of the Kingdom are experiencing a noticeable rise in temperatures, the Asir region continues to offer a different model of the Saudi summer, with its moderate climate, daily rains, and dense fog, making it a preferred destination for vacationers from inside and outside the Kingdom. 'Al-Watan' observed during a field tour in the governorates of Rijal Almaa, Muhayil Asir, and Al-Batila, a large influx of visitors seeking moderate weather and picturesque nature. Bahraini traveler Ghayth Al-Jilawi, who has visited more than 47 countries, said: 'I have visited many countries of the world, but Asir's weather is different. I came directly from Moscow to Asir because of the beautiful nature, rain and fog. Honestly, the weather is European to the fullest, and better than many summer resorts I have visited.' Fog on the peaks The mountainous governorates of Asir, such as Abha, Al-Souda, Al-Namas, Tanomah, and Rijal Almaa, are witnessing increasing demand from families and visitors from various regions of the Kingdom and Gulf countries, due to the moderate temperatures, which range in the highlands between 18 and 25 degrees Celsius, along with sporadic rainfall, low cloud formation, and fog on the peaks. Events and programs Asir has become one of the most prominent summer tourism destinations in the Kingdom, thanks to the diversity of its natural and tourism components, which combine mountains, parks, and heritage villages, foremost among them Al-Muftaha Village and Rijal Almaa, in addition to the summer events and programs organized by the Asir Region Development Authority, which enhances the region's position on the local and regional tourism map.
